A Knife with Meaning

This knife is named after my father-in-law, Donald Pace, a man of integrity, resilience, and faith. He is a godly man who has always led by example, showing strength, humility, and unwavering devotion to his family and faith. Most importantly, he gave me the greatest gift—his daughter, my wife.

The DP-1 was his favorite knife—a tool he carried and trusted every day. I personally hand-ground the very first DP-1 he carried before his health declined. It was a knife he relied on, one that fit him perfectly. After being diagnosed with a brain tumor, his situation worsened, leaving him bedridden, unable to sign his name, and losing a great portion of his sight. To honor him, we pulled his signature from his old mortgage papers and engraved it onto each DP-1 blade, ensuring his name and legacy are carried forward with every knife we make.

Now, we’re taking that one-of-a-kind, hand-ground knife and bringing it to life as a production run, making it available to those who appreciate the meaning, craftsmanship, and legacy behind it.

Despite his situation, he remains grateful and excited about this project. Each time we show him the knife, he expresses pure joy, knowing that something he loved and carried will now be in the hands of others who appreciate its meaning and craftsmanship.
